Moving Away

In chapter 6-12 Amber, Kayla's best friend has to move west to her cousins house is supposedly no fun because of a new religion she has taken on. Amber has to move because her dad and mom were trying to buy a very nice house and got screwed over because of something in their barcodes that was messed up. Her dad lost his job also because his workmates told his boss that something was wrong with his barcode, now that all this has happened Amber's parents have been fighting a lot more. When she announced to kayla that she was moving Kayla took it pretty hard and says it was like a part of her heart was being ripped out.

discussing issues!!

Some issues that happened in the bar code tattoo is that the bar codes are ruining peoples life like Kayla's friend amber's. Amber's parents are losing money and the bar codes aren't working so they transferred everything of theres to ambers cause ambers is they only one that works. These things are happening in our world as well, Like lots of people are losing there jobs and money.

Issues in this World

In the book, Amber's dad loses his job. And now no money is coming in. The money that they do have is going into Amber's bar code. This relates to events in this world because people lose their jobs all the time and have to move to go live with family members or someone because they cant afford a place to live. And also, Kayla lost her dad to the bar code. She was coming home one day from school and there were lost of people at her house including police. A lot of people can relate to this because they have deaths in their family, just like Kayla did.

Standing out!!!

In chapters 6-12 Is when kayla starts to stand out and joins the group thats is against the bar code. joying the group made it hard for her to get anything. makes it hard for her to find a job, but she ended up finding one anyways. In school she sands out because because she didn't have the bar code and everyone made fun of her and the group, But in the end found the people fitted in with and people that understand her and what she believes in.

Issues of Events

In the novel Bar Code a 16 year old girl, named Kayla witnesses a tragedy with her father. As she was on her way home there was a lot of people at her house wondering what was happening. Kayla's father Joseph had just died because he rejected getting the tattoo of the bar code. This event can be similar to my life when i was 7 years old. When i was 7 i witnessed the death of my aunt all from a bad illness. My aunt's name was Carrie and she had passed on from Leukemia, an infection in the bone marrow. So from this novel the event in Kayla's life was similar in mine because at young ages we both lost a family member.

new journey

In chapter 6 through 12 everything goes upside down for Kayla like Gene a person she consider a friends dies by getting shot by Global 1 security and her best friend Amber who parents bar code want let them do anything which amber dad loses his job so they decided to move with their cousin in Nevada . Amber doesn't want to leave but have to take care off her family because only her bar code is accepted.Kayla mother who loses her job at the hospital in which they have barley any food in the house nor can afford it.Kayla feels very alone in the world as she feels somethings been torn from her.Kayla gets a job after being rejected countless of time because she had no tatto. Kayla goes down to warehouses district to have fun in clubs like she heared in school she realizes that she being followed by some guy she ended up realizing he is Zekeal from her school .Zekeal takes Kayla were she wants to go then his secreted meeting which they talked about what sections they going to write for their magazine which Kayla developed feelings for Zekezl. As they introduced Kayla into this virtual reality helmet which she meet a woman who tells her the meaning of the soul .the woman resisted bar codes and believed you can resisted them with the mind.Nedra partically does not like kayla or believe her vision. Kayla recieves a messages from Amber and gives messages to Amber.Kayla mom got worse. And things in school changes arounded. Her art teacher has no tatoo and was fired and founded reclying cans and bottles.etc

Standing out

In chapters 1 and 5 Kayla is pressured by having low computer skills and not having the bar code tattoo and hanging out with the some of the outcasts in school and learning more information about the bar code tatto . Kayla also encounter hardships with the fact that her father committed suicide and her mother thinks the bar code killed him. And which her best friend wants her to badly get the tattoo which kayla really don't want to but is still curious about it .Amber and Kayla goes to the post offices to get kayla a bar code on her seventeen birthday as they waited a couple of mintunes gunshots were fired.
I can related to this story by feeling pressured to get good grades and pay atteion to things that I don't like and if I don't I be letured. And trying to do your best even when it hard. One thing I like about kayla is that she knows what she wants in life and dosen't let know one stop her and when she doesn't like something she points it out for example she points out that she dosent really care for computer skills and she skips classes she dosent want to attended to and hang out with people her best friend and everyone sees as and enemy or as werid I like her personality and hopes nothing changes her throughout the book.

Moving Away

In the book ambers family had to move away because her father lost his job, this event relates to my live because when I was four years old, my cousin Nicole had to move to Virginia and we only get to see eachother only twice a year at the most. Nicole was and still is like my best friend. But when we were little we were unseprateable. We would wear matching clothes and share food. Now that she lives in Virginia we talk almost every night on the phone for atleast an hour. It always seems like there is always something that we have to talk about.

What is more important: the well-being of society or the well being of an individual?

I personally think that the well-being of the society is more important then the well-being of the person. In the book "The Bar Code", the whole society is obsessed with this tattoo which is like your whole life put onto your arm. Kayla, the main character in the book thinks the government is going to far with this whole tattoo thing, so she is trying to change that with some other people that think the same thing. Kayla's dad who ended up killing himself because of something in the bar code of or something about it. If the society was better would anyone be ending up like they are so far in this book? Even though the society does not make choices for the people it has a big influence on them.

whats more important?

i believe that being the well being of an individual is more important because you can just be yourself inside the society and you dont have to be the same as anyone else or "be a follower" to other people in the society

Whats more important?

Whats more important the well being of society or the well being of the individual?
I think the well being of the society in more important than the well being of the individual. Because the well being of the individual depends on the well being of the society. If the society is doing good the individual is doing good as well.

Yourself over Society

Kayla Reed, a sixteen year old girl tries to go through life her own way and with her idenitiy. As she goes through life she sees how people tattoo themselves with a bar code so they could do what they want. When Kayla was going home she witnessed the death of her father because of the bar code. Kayla is so interested about the meaning of the bar code and why is it needed. Kayla believes that she can find another way to idenitify herself like an e - card instead of getting the tattoo of the bar code. Who Whats to be like everyone else?????

what's more important?

whats more important ? the well-being of society or the well-being of the individual?

In my opinion the well- being of an individual or ones self is more important than the well-being of the society as a whole. Society is already a disaster and the people who try to change it as a whole most likely won't succeed. Although when you look at things as changing yourself for the better,to aid in the problem bigger than you.

When is the "wrong thing" the "right thing" to do?

I believe when something is wrong but you think its right then go ahead and do it. like in the book the bar code tattoo Kayla is very curious about the tattoo that everyone is getting, Kayla's dad died because of the tattoo and her friend amber got her papers to get one because its her birthday in 3 weeks. but Kayla doesn't take the papers. Is this the wrong thing to do or the right thong to do ?????

Wise words of Albert Einstein:

"Laws alone can not secure freedom of expression; in order that every man present his views without penalty there must be spirit of tolerance in the entire population." In my opinion, this quote means that means the law can not take away personal opinions or your unique personality. That laws cannot make every human the same, that nothing can change the way people portray themselves, or the way people choose to think. This quotes basically states how the government cannot do anything to effect the natural right of a human being.

What is more important: the well-being of society or the well being of an individual?

I think that the well being of an individual is more important. I think that because if you were in a society that you wouldn't be who you are. When you are your own individual you can be who you want to be and do what you want to do.And when you are part of a society, you are practically controlled by the people around you. You would do and say what the other people are doing to fit in and you can't be you. Like, if someone told you that they wanted to hang out, and you really don't, you would do it just to make them happy and not do what you wanted to do.

when is doing the wrong thing the right thing?

I belive the wrong thing isn't ever the right thing to do. I belive that because it means you could get away with steeling something, maybe even hurting someone, but it was for a good reason. like if you have no money and your child is sick, that doesn't mean you go to a drug store and take cold medicain, or someones talks about you and you think its okay to walk up to them and hurt them because it not okay and should never be okay.

individuality

I think that it is more important to be an individual rather than just blend with society. If everybody just blended together than nothing would ever change or be invented. What if George Washington and the founding fathers of our country just tried to blend with society. Our country would have never been founded. Or if Thomas Edison did? Think about what we would lose without his inventions. If everybody just follows somebody else we would be nothing more than a herd of cattle, Just wandering aimlessly around going where we're pushed. Individuality is whats makes people people. What would life be like if every person was the exact same? You wouldn't be able to tell your friends apart. Individuality makes us strong. There's strength in diversity.

Wrong thing the Right thing do to?

I believe that the right time to do the wrong thing but it's the right thing to do is when your sibling does something horribly wrong and you dont want them to get in trouble so you tell your parents that you made that mistake. I have personally done this so that my brother hasnt gotten in trouble because I have more experience and if i make a mistake then it gets me in trouble but you want to save the good relationship that you have with your sibling

Freedom of Expression

"Laws alone can not secure freedom of expression; in order that every man present his views without penalty there must be spirit of tolerance in the entire population." - Albert Eintstein

The way in which you interpret this quote may indeed be far from my own interpretation. However the freedom of expression to the artist is more meaningful than perhaps to a mathematician. Expression to an artist such as myself is a nescesity. Without freedom of expression we wouldn't have things like abstract art or poetry. The symbolism used by the artist has underlying personal meaning that to them is important, just as illustrating for others the way they see the world and its beauty is important. If the world were unaccepting of unique views on life our society would be so drastically changed that we may not even be able to imagine how it would be. To me without the freedom of expression life would have less meaning and therefor have a dull finess.

When is doing the "wrong thing" the "right thing to do?

Doing the wrong thing could help you by doing the right thing because its risk taking matters. Like in movies the person that has certin opportunities to do something bad usually does the right thing to help or save the other guy thats going to be killed. Also like when your brother or sister gets in trouble in school you usually tell your parents that you did it and not them which is considered doing the wrong thing but doing the right thing in reniforcing loyal companionship with your brother or sister.
